Year in Coffee
Most people who know me, know I like coffee a lot. But that doesn't mean I drink a lot of coffee because I'm very picky about which coffee I like and which I don't like.
My choice of coffee is filter coffee. At home and in the office, I always brew my coffee using an Aeropress, best invention since sliced bread!
I start weighing the beans, grinding them with my Porlex Tall manual grinder and then brew a nice cup of coffee using hot water with just the correct temperature.
The whole brewing process is crucial, but it all starts with the selection of the beans. They play an essential role in how the taste of the coffee will be. The taste depends on what type of beans you are using, the country where they came from, the height where they grew, how they are processed (natural, washed, honey), etc.
In 2019 I was looking for a way to generate some statistics about the beans I was using. There are a few apps where you can keep track of this kind of information, but I couldn't get them working, or they weren't straightforward to use. I tried Peaberry, Coffunity and Coffeely
So I put all the information in a Google Sheet and generated some graphs myself:
