Year in Coffee - 2021
Like last couple of years, I've used Google Sheets to generate some statistics about the coffee beans I used this year.
The most noticeable difference between last year and this year is that I've had a lot of 'anaerobic' processed beans this year. Anaerobic fermentation is a relatively new way of processing coffee beans, where the beans are processed in a fully sealed and oxygen-deprived fermentation tank. I really love coffee made from these types of beans! It tastes fruitier and sweeter than most other types of processing.
Most coffee beans came out of Latin America this year, although African beans are still my preferred beans.
Like last year, I had less variety of beans compared to 2019, and I bought most of my beans at the local coffee shop, Espressofabriek.
If you are buying your coffee at the supermarket, I dare you to go to your local coffee shop, ask for advice and taste how real coffee can taste like. 😉
