Year in Coffee - 2024

My collection of 2024 Coffee Bean Bags

This is the sixth edition of 'My Year In Coffee',  my yearly statistics overview of the coffee beans I use in a year. I'm using Google Sheets for this.

Since I have an office in a different part of the city, I'm buying less coffee at my local coffee shop, Espressofabriek. This year, most of my coffee has been bought at  Rum Baba Coffee Roasters.

My favourite coffee country is still Ethiopia, although I have had some delicious coffees from Latin American countries. But the most excellent coffee I had this year was the Panama Kotowa Duncan - Lot 1873 - T2 - Filter - Limited Edition from Boot Koffie. Wow, this was very good.

Last year, I hoped to improve the number of anaerobic-processed beans I bought, and I was successful. Almost 13% were in some way anaerobic-processed.

This year, there was much to do about the price of coffee and whether we will still be able to drink coffee in the future due to climate change. The price you pay for supermarket coffee is still way too low, so if you want to make a change this year in how you spend your money, you can start to buy coffee at your local coffee shop. Most of them make sure the farmers get a better price for their work, and the coffee tastes much better!

If you have any tips for great coffee beans, or if you are a roaster and want to be included in my stats for next year, please send me an email. 😎
